Camouflage as Praxis
‘Titli Ud’ is an exploration into the effects of language standardization, particularly on our ability to communicate authentically. It explores the multiplicity of language, especially within English, and the linguistic “slippages” that arise from this fluidity. My focus is on how these slippages—variations in accent and language use—can be understood as authentic markers of identity rather than deviations from a “standard” language. By examining this process, I aim to rethink the traditional notion of a standardized English and explore how our personal use of language reflects and shapes our identities.
